What it is: Status: senior citizens and residents

Cost: Free or cheaper for those who meet the age limit; you arrange the card or permit yourself

How it works: The age limit differs by organisation: 55+ for Abu Dhabi buses, 60+ for nol in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah buses, Etihad Rail and Al Ain Zoo, 65+ for the Yas Island parks and Qasr Al Watan (UAE residents only). The sources give Sharjah buses simply as “the elderly” with no age. The document is almost always the Emirates ID; the Yas park discounts are issued at the counter only.
